Part of the Parkbus NatureLink program, connecting city travellers with British Columbia's most scenic mountain communities.
Tucked just east of Hope along the Crowsnest Highway, Sunshine Valley offers a quiet, nature-rich getaway framed by dramatic mountains and crisp alpine air. It's an ideal spot for travellers seeking a slower pace and easy access to the outdoors — a refreshing contrast to busier provincial parks, perfect for unwinding in nature without strenuous hiking.
While previous NatureLink routes visited the Othello Tunnels, this updated service now brings visitors to Sunshine Valley, a peaceful resort-style community surrounded by forests, peaks, and history.
Forested walking paths suitable for families and casual explorers — no strenuous hiking required.
Dramatic peaks that shift beautifully with the seasons, in every direction.
Sightings from birds to the occasional deer, right around the valley.
Cabins, lodges, and friendly local businesses in a peaceful community.
One easy loop from Vancouver: Sunshine Valley and the Tashme Museum, the Hope Slide viewpoint, and free time in downtown Hope — home the same evening.
Meet in front of the Bentall Centre courtyard (look for TD Bank). Get there 15 minutes early, settle into the coach, and leave the driving to us for the trip out along the Crowsnest Highway.
Step out into the alpine air of Sunshine Valley. Wander the forested paths and take in the mountains, or visit the Tashme Museum (optional, +$10) right in the valley. There's a driver break here too.
A short stop at the Hope Slide viewpoint, site of one of the largest landslides in Canadian history — a dramatic, sweeping look across the valley before we roll into town.
Over three hours to explore Hope at your own pace. Find the 80+ chainsaw carvings around town, follow the self-guided Rambo: First Blood filming tour, browse Wallace Street's shops, and grab lunch, coffee, or ice cream. Relax in Memorial Park between it all.
We roll back into downtown Vancouver in the early evening — same spot we left from, with the day's mountain air still in your lungs.
For an additional $10, shuttle passengers can visit the Tashme Museum, located right in Sunshine Valley. The museum preserves the stories of the Tashme Internment Camp, once the largest site used to detain Japanese Canadians during the Second World War.
